Extended GP Access - Centre Durham GP Federation

Need to see a GP or Practice Nurse in the evening or weekends? GP's in central Durham, Chester-le-Street and Derwentside are working together to offer extra GP and Practice Nurse appointments on weekday evenings and at the weekend. Please call the surgery to book any available evening or weekend appointments (note this may be at another Surgery, please ensure you can get to the location)

Patient Participation Group

We now have an option to send comments and / or suggestions to the Patient Participation Group and / or Practice. If you select "Have your say" on main page, there is section within Patient Participation Group that allows a form to be completed and emailed to the Practice. Please use this to send comments and suggestions to the Group for discussion

Named Accountable GP

Practices now need to allocate all patients a named accountable GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to you.

As of 1st March 2016 all patients at the practice have been allocated a named accountable GP.

For all patients at Bowburn Medical Centre, Dr. Armstrong will be your named accountable GP.

This is for administrative purposes only and all patients still have free choice to request an appointment with any GP or Practitioner in the practice.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Disabled Access

Bowburn Medical Centre has disabled toilets and easy access for wheelchairs. Should you require assistance please ring the bell at the front door and a receptionist will assist you.  There are disabled parking facilities located next to both site entrances.
